Katha is a private, personal reading tool. Users may only upload comics they own or are permitted to use, and nothing uploaded is shared publicly. We respond promptly to notices of claimed infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512), India's Information Technology Rules 2021, and similar laws.

Reporting infringement

Send a written notice to our copyright agent at [copyright@your-domain.com] ([Your legal entity name], [Registered address]) that includes:

1. your physical or electronic signature (as the owner or someone authorised to act for them);
2. identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
3. identification of the material, with enough detail for us to locate it (because uploads are private, include the title, the chapter, and the account email if you know it);
4. your name, address, phone number and email;
5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you're authorised to act.

What we do

• We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
• We remove or disable access to material identified in a valid notice, and notify the user who uploaded it.
• We act on court or government orders within the time the law requires.
• Repeat infringers: we close the accounts of users who repeatedly upload infringing material.

Counter-notice

If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice including:

1. your physical or electronic signature;
2. identification of the removed material and where it appeared;
3. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
4. your name, address and phone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address (or [Country / State] if you're outside the US), and to accept service from the person who submitted the notice.

Misrepresentation

Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may make you liable for damages. If you're unsure whether something infringes your rights, consider seeking legal advice first.
